Brian is a practicing physician with wide-ranging experience in the pharma industry. His career started when he joined the pharmaceutical industry as Director of Clinical Research, first for Ayerst in Montréal and then, in 1986, for Merck Frosst in Kirkland. Following relocation to the US with Merck & Co., he spent several years in global regulatory affairs in various therapeutic areas. In 1992, he took over as Merck’s Vice President of Regulatory Affairs for Europe, in Brussels, until 2002, when he was given the task of overseeing all liaison activities with international regulatory agencies. Upon returning to the US in 2004, he served as Vice President responsible for all clinical operations and medical departments located around the world for Merck. He was elected foreign correspondent by the Académie Nationale de Pharmacie in Paris, France, in 2003. In 2008, he joined the Faculty of Pharmacy at University of Montréal as a Full Professor and headed the new BSc program in biopharmaceutical sciences until June 2014. Brian completed his medical training at Laval University.
