Francis is a Scientific Analyst in the fund, acting as support to the Partners by being involved in a variety of projects, where his role is typically to find, understand, sum up and present scientific or competitive intel for strategic decision-making. Notably, he plays a key role in due diligence, in supporting transactions as well as in the transition from pre-seed investments to company creation.
Francis initially joined AmorChem as an intern in January 2019. Before joining the team, he had worked as a business development intern at Bellus Health, where he analyzed competitive landscapes and built revenue models for an exploratory indication. He had also interned at an immunology-focused research lab of the University of Montreal’s Faculty of Pharmacy before being taken on as research auxiliary. There, he worked on a project investigating the role of innate immunity in vascular remodeling. Francis holds a BSc in Biopharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Montreal and is currently a Level 1 candidate for the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation.
